Golden oats for Autumn

Autumn is here, the days are cooler and darker, the leaves are dressed in beautiful colors. This may very well be my favorite time of year. Candles, books, walks in nature, hot drinks and amazing food.

If you follow me on Instagram you probably already know that I love oats for breakfast this time of year. In particularly my golden oats with carrots, ginger and warming spices. It is nourishing, delicious, and keep me warm and satisfied for hours. Perfect for this time of year! (Recipe below the picture)



Golden oats ingredients

- 1 dl glutenfree oats

- 1 dl water

- 0,5 dl coconut, almond, or oat milk

- 1 small-medium sized carrot

- Fresh ginger grated. 1-2 slices

- 1 tsp turmeric

- 1/4 tsp nutmeg

- 1-2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon

- 1-2 tsp cardamon

- Mineral/sea salt to taste

- 1 tbsp ghee, coconut oil or butter

 

To Do

1. Grate the carrot on a grater and add to a pan with ghee/coconut oil and allow it to soften on low heat before adding all spices except turmeric.

2. Pour in water and oats and stir until it starts to simmer. When the oats begins to thicken, bring in the milk and just before it starts to be done you’ll stir in the turmeric.

3. Pour into a bowl and top with whatever you fancy. Nutbutter, butter, milk, warm berries, dried/fresh fruits, nuts, etc. Find your style.
